This golden sandy beach is a perfect place to spend your days soaking up the sun, swimming in the sea, or taking a leisurely walk along the coast. Surrounded by cliffs and crystal-clear waters, you’ll be hard-pressed to think of a more idyllic place to retreat to.

Of course, there is the stunning South West Coast Path, which weaves in and out of the coast on its way to St Ives. Offering breathtaking views of the coastline and is perfect for birdwatching and wildlife spotting. From Carbis Bay to St Ives, it takes approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace, and it’s a fantastic way to enjoy the scenery and explore the area on foot.

Are dogs allowed on Carbis Bay beach?

Dogs are allowed on Carbis Bay beach year-round. However, between 15th May – 30th September, dogs are not allowed on the beach between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm. Outside of these hours, dogs are free to go on Carbis Bay beach.

What Parking is There in Carbis Bay?

Carbis Bay Beach has a small car park conveniently located close to the beach, making parking relatively easy, especially during non-peak times. However, during peak holiday seasons and weekends, the car park can fill up quickly and charges up to £25 a day so it’s advisable to arrive early to secure a parking spot. Additionally, another parking option is available at the top of the hill at Carbis Bay Station. This car park is spacious and offers more economical rates compared to the beachfront parking area.

Is There a Train Between St Ives and Carbis Bay?

The St Ives Bay Line runs between St Erth and St Ives, with Carbis Bay being one of the stations along the route. It’s a scenic journey that takes only a few minutes, offering stunning views of the coastline, we highly recommend it just for the stunning views. The train is a convenient and enjoyable way to travel between Carbis Bay and St Ives, allowing you to avoid traffic and parking hassles in the town centre.
