ANSWERS TO SOME COMMON QUESTIONS
- Do we accept dogs in any of our properties?
Most of our properties do not accept pets.
However, whilst we don’t advertise Seawater as being ‘dog friendly’ one dog would be allowed to stay here at no extra cost on the condition that he/she isn’t left alone in the cottage and doesn’t go upstairs to the bedrooms or on the furniture, including the sofas.
- Are our properties suitable for babies & children?
Most of our properties are suitable for babies and children, some more so than others…
Number Seven is an apartment on one level with bunk room full of toys and games. Children and babies are welcome at Seawater although please be aware that, like many properties in St Ives, the staircases are fairly steep. At Pilchard Cottage children are welcome although the cottage is not suitable for toddlers due to a steep staircase.
Pre-school age children are not permitted at The Loft and Sands Studio is adults only.

High-chairs and travel cots can be hired from Star Linen on 01736 791685 or www.starlinenhirestives.co.uk who drop-off and pick-up from the property.
- Are there any other charges?
There is a compulsory £20 booking fee per booking.
There are no extra charges for car parking*, WiFi, cleaning, heating, gas, electricity, water or anything else.
*The Loft has no parking space, parking is in public car parks at guest’s expense.
- What else is included?
We provide welcome provisions such as toilet roll, kitchen roll, pint of milk, biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar.
Initial supply of cleaning products are also included.
All properties have hair-dryer, iron and ironing board.
- Is gas and electricity included in the price?
Yes, the rental cost is inclusive of gas and electricity charges.
- How do I enter the property?
All of our properties have a key safe to the side of the front door.
We will email you the key code prior to your arrival.
- Is WiFi included?
Yes, all of our properties have WiFi which is provided free of charge.
Further details will be displayed in the information folder in each property.
- When is the balance due for my holiday?
A deposit payment of one third of the overall balance is payable in order to confirm the booking if the holiday is two months or more in advance. Upon payment of the deposit and subject to acceptance of the booking, the Hirer becomes liable for the balance of the rent two months before the holiday start date.
If booking less than two months before the holiday begins then the full balance is payable to confirm the booking.
A non-refundable booking fee of £20 is payable per booking.
- Where can I buy my groceries?
The nearest large supermarket is Tesco in Carbis Bay.
However, there are two small Co-op supermarkets in St Ives town centre along with The Allotment Deli on Fore Street.
- What time is check-in/check-out?
Check-in is from 3pm on arrival day and check-out up to 10am on departure day.
- What happens if I need to cancel?
In the event of a cancellation being received in writing, So St Ives will endeavour to re-let the property for the full amount and, if successful, will refund any monies already paid minus an administration fee of £50.
If the property is re-let at a lesser amount then only this amount minus the £50 administration fee will be refunded.
If the property is not re-let, the original Hirer is liable only for payments already made.
We strongly recommend that you take out a travel insurance policy to cover such losses.
- How do I make a booking?
All our properties can be booked online, by phone, email or by sending a booking enquiry from this website.
Payments can be made over the phone by debit/credit card or online on this website.
We require a deposit of one-third of the total cost to confirm the booking with the remaining balance payable two months before your booking commences.
- Do we have parking at all our properties?
All of our properties have reserved parking spaces with the exception of The Loft.

- Do we take shorter bookings?
Bookings are usually weekly Friday to Friday during the busier months, although we do take shorter bookings for a minimum of 3 nights during off-peak periods between October to May excluding school half terms, Christmas, New Year and Easter school holidays.
Please contact us for alternative arrival/departure dates as we always endeavour to be accommodating.
- Is bed linen included?
Our properties are equipped with bed linen including sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases and bed throws. We also provide tea towels, bath towels and hand towels, but not beach towels.
