ANSWERS TO SOME COMMON QUESTIONS
- Is bed linen included?
Our properties are equipped with bed linen including sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases and bed throws. We also provide tea towels, bath towels and hand towels, but not beach towels.
- Is gas and electricity included in the price?
Yes, the rental cost is inclusive of gas and electricity charges.
- How do I enter the property?
All of our properties have a key safe to the side of the front door.
We will email you the key code and further pre-arrival information prior to your arrival.
- Are there any other charges?
There is a compulsory £35 booking fee per booking.
There are no extra charges for car parking*, WiFi, cleaning, heating, gas, electricity, water or anything else.
*Some properties do not have their own parking space, parking is in public car parks at guest’s expense. Please check individual properties for details.
- What else is included?
We provide welcome provisions such as toilet roll, kitchen roll, pint of milk, tea, coffee and sugar.
Cleaning products are also provided, including washing up/dishwasher provisions.
All properties have hair-dryer, iron and ironing board.
- Is WiFi included?
Yes, all of our properties have WiFi which is provided free of charge.
Further details will be displayed in the information folder in each property.
- How do I make a booking?
All our properties can be booked online or by phone.
Secure payments can be made when booking online by debit/credit card. Alternatively payments can also be made over the phone.
We require a deposit of one-third of the total cost to confirm the booking with the remaining balance payable one month before your booking commences.
- What happens if I need to cancel?
In the event of a cancellation being received in writing, So St Ives will endeavour to re-let the property for the full amount and, if successful, will refund any monies already paid minus an administration fee of £50.
If the property is re-let at a lesser amount then only this amount minus the £50 administration fee will be refunded.
If the property is not re-let, the original Hirer is liable only for payments already made.
We strongly recommend that you take out a travel insurance policy to cover such losses.
- What time is check-in/check-out?
Check-in is from 3pm on arrival day and check-out up to 9am on departure day.
- Where can I buy my groceries?
The nearest large supermarket is Tesco in Carbis Bay.
However, there are two small Co-op supermarkets in St Ives town centre along with The Allotment Deli on Fore Street.
- When is the balance due for my holiday?
A deposit payment of one third of the overall balance is payable in order to confirm the booking if the holiday is one month or more in advance. Upon payment of the deposit and subject to acceptance of the booking, the Hirer becomes liable for the balance of the rent two months before the holiday start date.
If booking less than one month before the holiday begins then the full balance is payable to confirm the booking.
The booking fee of £35 is payable at the time of booking.
- Are our properties suitable for babies & children?
Most of our properties are suitable for babies and children, some more so than others…
Children and babies are welcome at Seawater although please be aware that, like many properties in St Ives, the staircases are fairly steep.
At Pilchard Cottage children are welcome although the cottage is not suitable for toddlers due to a steep wooden staircase.
Pre-school age children are not permitted at The Loft.
Samphire Studio and Sands Studio are suitable for adults only.

- Do we accept dogs in any of our properties?
Some of our properties do accept dogs.
These include Trenoweth Lodge, Stones Reef, Figgy Cottage and Seawater.

- Do we have parking at all our properties?
Most of our properties have reserved parking spaces with the exception of some Downalong properties.

- Do we take shorter bookings?
Bookings are usually weekly beginning either on a Friday or Saturday during the busier months, although we do take shorter bookings for a minimum of 3 nights during off-peak periods between November to March excluding school holidays and bank holidays.
